Protect Approved Formulas from Deletion and Editing in Dynamics 365 SCM
Short answer
BC Select the Block removal of approval option for the formula and select Block editing and approve the formula.
Question

Key Takeaways
Block editing is the control that prevents editing and deletion of a formula. Block removal of approval only guards the approval flag, and an electronic signature only adds audit - neither blocks edits. Therefore only the Block editing based options satisfy the requirement.
To guarantee that approved formulas cannot be deleted or edited (while deactivation remains allowed), turn on Block editing for the formula, applied on its own or together with approving the formula. Block editing blocks both edits and deletions.
Common mistake: Do not rely on Block removal of approval by itself, and do not use an electronic signature, to meet 'cannot be deleted or edited'. Block removal of approval protects only the approval status, and a signature does not stop edits or deletions.
Expert Analysis
Why the Answer Is Correct
The business rule requires approved formulas to be protected from deletion and editing, but still deactivatable. In Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management the Block editing parameter is what disables editing and deletion of the formula. Selecting Block editing alone satisfies the rule, and selecting Block editing together with approving the formula also satisfies it while moving the formula into an approved state. Both approaches are acceptable ways to achieve the control objective.
Why the Other Options Are Wrong
- The option that only blocks removal of approval protects the approved status but leaves the formula editable and deletable, so it does not meet the requirement.
- The option requiring an electronic signature on approval adds a sign-off step but does not prevent editing or deletion of the formula.
Community Comment Notes
Discussion of this case-study variant confirmed that the editable/deletable protection comes specifically from Block editing; controlling approval removal alone is not enough.

4cc52dd 👍 4"Formula changes must be reviewed and approved. You must ensure that approved formulas cannot be deleted or edited. Approved formulas may be deactivated." The only way with the options given to achieve all objectives is B and C. If you Block editing and approve, the formula cant be deleted or edited unless approval is removed, so you would then Block removal of approval. You can still deactivate. If you only block removal of approval and don't block editing, You can still make new formulas and formula versions. I feel like the most important objectives here are met with B and C. D is an extra layer that is useful but not required given the parameters of the question.

GiSi1965 👍 3https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/production-control/formulas-versions To help secure a formula or formula version, you can set the Block editing and Block removal of approval parameters on the Production control parameters page. If you select Block editing, and the formula is approved, no fields on the formula lines can be deleted or edited. However, if you remove the approval of the formula, you can delete and modify the formula lines. You can also create new formulas and new formula versions. If you select Block removal of approval, you can't remove the approval of an approved formula or formula version. However, you can create new formulas and new formula versions, and you can remove the activation of the formula version.

CCexamn 👍 21. Formula changes must be reviewed and approved. This requirement is solved by electronic signature 2.You must ensure that approved formulas cannot be deleted or edited. Approved formulas may be deactivated. This requirement is solved by Select the Block removal of approval option for the formula.

MrLulex 👍 2I would sad A and D. Electronic signature for Formula changes must be reviewed and approved, and Block editing for apporved formulas cannot be deleted or edited.
