Community Insight

The question tests the specific Power Query Data view options needed to display column profiling metrics; the common trap is selecting options related to the details pane instead of the main column view.

This guide identifies the three Data view options in Power Query required to display column value distribution, column profile, and column quality details for a semantic model in Microsoft Fabric. Selecting these options provides comprehensive column profiling directly in the query editor.

Choosing options B or E (Enable details pane / Show column profile in details pane) because users confuse the main column view profiling with the details pane view.

C Enable column profile A Show column value distribution D Show Column quality details

As per the screenshot, there are only 2 options to show that information: 1st is "Column Distribution" and 2nd is "Column Quality". I don't know why it is asking for 3 and when we select "Column profile" it shows statistics and value distribution.

Show column value distribution: This option provides a visual representation of the distribution of values in each column, which is visible in the exhibit. Enable column profile: This option displays statistics and other detailed information about each column, including value distribution, which aligns with the data shown in the exhibit. Show column quality details: This option shows the quality of the data in each column, indicating valid, error, and empty values, as displayed in the exhibit.

IMHO, ACD is good. There is no example for details, so B and E are not needed

Expert Analysis

Why the Answer Is Correct

To view the column information as depicted in the exhibit (which shows column quality, value distribution, and profile statistics), you must enable the corresponding Data view options in Power Query. "Enable column profile" turns on the profiling feature at the bottom of the column view. "Show column value distribution" and "Show column quality details" toggle the visual distribution bars and quality percentages (Valid, Error, Empty) within that profile. Together, these three options (A, C, D) render the complete column information shown.

Why the Other Options Are Wrong

Options B and E ("Enable details pane" and "Show column profile in details pane") are incorrect because the exhibit displays the information directly in the main column view, not in a separate details pane. The details pane is a distinct panel that provides expanded profiling information, but the question asks for the options that display the information inline as shown. Since the question asks for exactly three options, and A, C, and D cover the inline display, B and E cannot be part of the solution.

Community Comment Notes

Multiple community members confirmed the ACD combination through hands-on testing, such as the user who "Tested it with a dataflow in Fabric". Another user supported ACD by noting that "simply there is no pane here, everything is showed in the upper box", which explicitly rules out the details pane options (B and E). Another commenter mentioned that selecting "Column profile" shows statistics and value distribution, validating the inclusion of option C.

Exam Strategy

When asked about Power Query Data view options, distinguish between inline column profiling and the details pane. If the exhibit shows metrics directly under or within the column headers, select the inline profile options (Column profile, Column quality, Column value distribution) rather than the details pane options.
